Tanja Drews - Framed Originals

Originally from Europe, Tanja Drews worked as an amateur painter until she moved to Singapore in 1997 where she started formal art classes in Chinese brush painting with Singaporean Master Cham Tau Soon. He awakened her assion for this highly specialised art form, which traces its origins back to 6000 years ago. In 2000 Tanja moved to Japan where she enlisted at the Managawa School of Arts in Tokyo until she returned to Germany in 2002 where she complemented her knowledge of traditional Japanese Culture by attending the IORI School for Japanese Tea Ceremony until 2009. Since 2011 Tanja resides in Cape Town where she has been developing her own unique style by combining her various brush painting techniques with some of the oldest Cape landscapes, fauna and flora.
