Sam Brown

Sam was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and grew up in a time of creativity, tension, and change – it brought forth an artist’s heart – a passionate dancer in the early years with a passion for the arts in all its forms.

Sam thrived under art instruction at Damelin College and, on leaving school, embarked on a Theatre Technology diploma at Natal Tech in 1992 to pursue her artistic dream. After completing her diploma, later worked for a set building company – it was a stimulating, highly creative environment and fueled her interest in film making. This led her to a freelance career for the next 17 years, working on both international feature films and television commercials. In 2001, Sam began painting full-time and decided to create her own work. She supplies galleries in Europe and Africa, working mostly on private commissions and occasionally on group exhibitions too.
