Sketchy Brett
Sketchy Brett is a South African artist whose bold charcoal works explore the tension between chaos and control. Self-taught and instinctively rebellious, he forged his own path, once literally forging his parents’ signature to study art in high school, and has since become known for gestural portraits and wildlife pieces that feel alive with movement and emotion. His work has since exhibited in leading galleries, art fairs, design and décor publications and shows.
Much of Brett’s inspiration traces back to his childhood spent overlanding through Africa, journeys across vast landscapes, remote villages, and wild horizons that shaped his fascination with African cultures, human spirit and wildlife.
Rooted in authenticity and driven by curiosity, Sketchy Brett’s art is less about decoration and more about connection, between people, stories, and the untamed energy of the continent that raised him.
