Helen Walne

Helen Walne is an award-winning writer and underwater photographer who captures the vibrancy of Cape Town’s kelp forest during her daily immersions. Her work explores the fragility of the natural world and the indivisible connection between humans and the wild.

Helen has been the recipient of various global photography awards, including The Nature Conservancy Africa 2023 Photo Contest and the Parley for the Oceans/AnOther competition.

Her book, The Diving, was published by Penguin Random House.
