Portrait of a young woman from the Mursi tribe – a highly distinct nomadic group living in the remote Lower Omo Valley of Ethiopia, near the border of South Sudan.
The large crescent-shaped ornaments framing her neck are carved from warthog tusks. For the Mursi, these tusks are fashioned into striking necklaces to represent prestige, resilience, and a deep connection to the wildlife of the remote region.
