'Goodbye Hat!'
My style has developed towards ordered chaos. It can be anything, a beautifully crafted flower with a very busy bee, or in this case, the balance of a landscape painting disrupted by a very busy hat. Each painting is moving towards detailed disruption. The detail, your mind wants to accept as a well-painted subject, then the added disruption to defy and rebel. A happy balance. A buyer once mentioned that it’s a painting that became art. The same goes for the Hats in the wind. The movement of any subject enables the style. In this case, a gusty day in Cape Town. Breaking the mould from Animals and birds for a while, the sight of hats blowing in the wind brings a little smile.
